I'M DELIGHTED - BENTS
EVERYONE at Blackburn Rovers is delighted that young England star David Bentley has penned a new deal - no-one more so than the man himself.
Bentley yesterday signed a new deal to keep him at the club until the summer of 2011 and admits he is delighted to be staying at the club for the foreseeable future.
"I'm really happy with the season I'm having, but I feel I can get better and really push on this season and for future seasons.
"I've worked on myself a lot physically to get to the level demanded in the Premiership. I did find it hard in the early years of my career, but now enjoying my life, enjoying my football I see no reason for that to change.
"Hopefully, I'm going to be here long-term and I want to keep on enjoying it. This is certainly a club that is heading in the right direction with the quality of players that we have here.
"I am still young, I'm only 22 so I'm still learning, I come in every day to get better and this is the place for me."
When 'Bents' first signed a permanent contract with Rovers in 2006 he immediately netted a superb hat-trick against Manchester United and admitted a repeat of that tomorrow against his former club Arsenal would be fantastic.
"If I get another hat-trick I would be very happy. I'll be going out in the same vein as I do every game and if it happens for me tomorrow I'll be a very lucky man."

Jeffers loaned out
前鋒傑佛斯租借至英冠 Ipswich 一個月
ROVERS have today allowed striker Francis Jeffers to join Ipswich Town on a months loan.
The Championship side are hopeful that they'll have concluded the deal to take the 26 year old to Portman Road in time for him to face Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.
Jeffers on targetFRANCIS Jeffers netted on his first start for Ipswich Town last night.
The Rovers striker, who has moved to the Portman Road club on a month's loan, struck the first goal and played an important part in the second as Town's inflicted a heavy 5-2 defeat on Hull City at the KC Stadium.
The former Everton and Arsenal man has only scored once for Rovers since arriving on a free transfer in the summer and has found his chances limited due to the rise to prominence of young striker Matt Derbyshire, so the boss Mark Hughes will be delighted that Jeffers has made such an immediate impact so early on in his loan spell.
"He's been a little bit unfortunate this season, in as much as Matt Derbyshire has come to the fore and done exceptionally well for me, so in the next month or so he probably wouldn't have got a great deal of football," said Hughes.
"He just wants to play. He's had a couple of years where he hasn't had a great deal of football, and I think it will benefit him if he gets some games under his belt.
"Then, for the last month or so, he can come back here and be an option for us."
Also in action last night was Bryan Hodge, the on loan midfielder played 70 minutes in Mansfield's 2-1 win over Chester City.
競爭激烈阿...只能說,德比夏爾竄出頭,傑佛斯&羅伯斯全都閃邊站了

Savage Boost

Todd has operation
隊長本賽季只出賽了8場就受傷
預計將會在膝蓋動個小手術
ANDY Todd has had a small operation on his knee.
The defender, who has been resticted to just eight first team starts this season, had been experiencing some discomfort and it was decided to get it sorted rather than wait.
"Andy went in for an operation for he needed a clearout in his knee," said manager Mark Hughes.
"The problem has been sorted and there shouldn't be any complications."
