ROVERS' latest signing Roque Santa Cruz met the media and the fans this afternoon at Ewood Park and he has revealed how excited he is to be here.

Some 300 Rovers fans turned up at the football ground to meet the former Bayern Munich striker, and he spent time signing autographs and posing for pictures with the fans.

The Paraguay international has signed a four-year deal for a fee of £3.3m and can't wait to get started at his new club.

"It was easy, Blackburn were serious in me from the beginning and they showed me that they were really interested to have me here," said Santa Cruz.

"That is exactly what I wanted and why I wanted to move from Bayern."

Santa Cruz spent seven seasons at the Bundesliga giants but felt the time was right for him to move to pastures new and when the chance of playing in the Premier League arose, he didn't have a moments hesitation.

"I'm very happy to be here and I don't think I'll miss anything from Bayern," added Roque. "With the people I have met here today I know that we are going to make a good team.

"It is a big thing for me to be here, in South America the Premier League is shown everywhere, it will give my family the opportunity to see me.

"I am very excited about it already, I've talked about it with friends like Owen (Hargreaves) and now I just want to work so that as soon as possible I'll be good to play.

"It is a big thing for me to be here with Blackburn and I will do my best."
