two-year contract until 30 June 2008. Crespo joins Inter on a two-year
free transfer from Chelsea, who have an option to take the player back
after one season.

CRESPO: "BACK WITH THE FAMILY"
Monday, 07 August 2006 17:59:34
MILAN - Two hundred and forty goals. Sixteen of those in 30 appearances
for Inter in 2002/03. Goal machine Hernan Crespo is back. After agreeing
a two-year loan transfer with Chelsea, Hernan had a medical before putting
pen to paper and meeting the press and over two hundred fans. Crespo,
who displayed the new Inter shirt with Scudetto and Coppa Italia, was unveiled
to the media by Inter's transfer market chiefs Marco Branca and Gabriele Oriali.

"I feel an incredible joy. I have the same desire, the same responsibilities
I had before, I'm still very motivated, and the pressure has never frightened me,
" said Crespo. "I hope and want to do well, very well. I am back at Inter,
a club and a team with which I had a very intense rapport that I have always
respected. It was hard when I left to join Chelsea, I still remember that I
cried when leaving Appiano Gentile. What I felt then was like leaving a big
family and thinking I would not have another chance. But I have it now and I'm
keeping hold of it.

"For me and for my career being back at Inter and seeing my name linked to
all the big European clubs is a reason to be proud. Nothing bothers me at
all about the loan transfer. I actually have to thank Chelsea, the chairman
and the coach because they understood what I wanted as a man and they have
made me happy.

"I still haven't spoken with him directly but I have known Roberto Mancini
for many years. He gave me a big hand settling in at Lazio, and we have
always kept in touch. We also share the same passion for five-a-side...
I will put myself at the service of the team and the coach, I will always
play with passion and give my all.

"It is true that I have a special, sentimental and now legal relationship
with Italy. I am officially an Italian citizen. I have an Italian wife and
two Milanese daughters, Nicole and Sofia. They are at home here."

沒關係,you are home now!!

CRESPO: "PROUD TO BE BACK"
Monday, 07 August 2006 20:26:37
MILAN - Hernan Crespo presentation news conference (2):

Your career shows that it is very important for you to get on well with your coach.
Do you already know Mancini?
"I was with him at Lazio. We have known each for many years and when I arrived
at Lazio he was Eriksson's vice coach and he gave me a big hand settling in.
We also got on well when he became Lazio coach and we began pre-season training,
but I transferred to Inter. We share the same passion for two things: Sardinia
and five-a-side. We were there a few summers ago and played a few games together."

You are still linked to Chelsea. Are you bothered about not being at Inter on
a permanent deal?
"It is not something that bothers me. I am very pleased to know that Chelsea
wanted to keep me. I want to thank Mourinho for listening to me and being very
flexible. I would also like to thank Roman Abramovich and Peter Kenyon, who
understood what I wanted as a man and I am very pleased about this. I will
always be fond of Chelsea because I met some great people there and had the
chance to play in front of a splendid crowd. It is not easy for an Argentine
to be loved in England, so this experience was fantastic."

Why do you feel more Italian than many Italians?
"There are many reasons, but I don't know if I feel more Italian than some
Italians. But the legal aspect aside, you all know that I am Italian now.
I grew up watching this football and I fell in love seeing the whole of Italy.
I have been in this country for ten years, I have an Italian wife and two
splendid Milanese daughters. If I felt like a son of Italy before, now I am
legally an Italian citizen."

Would there have been much difference between joining Inter or Milan?
"I am proud that both Inter and Milan were after me. We are talking about two
great clubs. We can't forget Chelsea either. We are talking about three great
clubs and on a footballing level this fills me with pride. It is special to
be back at Inter. I can still remember when I cried when leaving Pinetina to
go to Chelsea. I didn't think I would have another chance at Inter, but it has
happened and and I'm not letting this chance pass."

What is it like to be back at Inter?
"I am very pleased and happy to be here. Like I have already said, you make
decisions and there are priorities. When I left it was the right decision,
but it's not like this now. We had the possibility to be back together and
we decided to reunite. It's like when you leave your girlfriend: you don't
think much about whether it was me who left her or her who left me."

CRESPO: "FAMILIAR INTENSITY AT INTER"
Monday, 07 August 2006 21:03:29
MILAN - Hernan Crespo presentation news conference (3):

Did you leave behind any undecided matters when you left Inter to join Chelsea?
"It's not that I left behind some undecided matters. On a footballing level I
gave everything I could. I always tried to play with passion and show it on
the pitch. I realised that I was leaving a big family and I was hurt by this.
Now, however, I have the chance to meet everyone again, from the managers to
the staff and my team-mates. I will be back with many friends and I am very
happy about this. And the fact that I will return to Brunico is something special."

What differences were there between your experiences at Inter and Milan. What
does it mean to return to Inter after having worn a Rossoneri shirt?
"It was a very intense experience for me at Inter. Unfortunately I had an injury
that kept me out for three months. The road to recovery to be able to play as
soon as possible was intense. It is all very, very intense at Inter and this
is wonderful. At Milan, that was another wonderful spell. It would be easy to
talk badly of Milan and say something against Milan right now, but I would never
do it because it wouldn't be true, and they treated me very well. They gave me
the chance to be a top-level player again. I will always be indebted to Milan
and I will always thank them, but life goes on and each person has his priorities
and makes his decisions. In this case Inter chose me and I am very pleased to be
here."

What will it mean to you to play with the Scudetto on the Inter shirt?
"I won it last season with Chelsea, so it is something I will have in common
with my colleagues."

With several teams penalised and Juventus in Serie B, will it all be downhill
next season? Will there be more pressure on Inter than in the past?
"I don't think Inter are newcomers to pressure. The teams we will have to face
aside, Inter will have to try and have as good a season as the last few they
have played, try to win as many points as possible, and things will come by
themselves. We mustn't constantly think about who is there and who isn't, or
who has a few points less. We have to focus on ourselves and try to give our
best every time. At the end we will see if it really was all downhill."

Have you spoken with Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti?
"No (smiles), but he will realise I have transferred to Inter when he sees
the fireworks I have put in front of my house."

Have you already had the opportunity to speak with Roberto Mancini and ask
him about your role in the forthcoming season?
"We haven't spoken about these things. My role is always to give my best and
be at the service of the coach. He will decide when and how much to play me,
I am at his complete service. I promise that I will work very hard and give
my in best in every minute of playing time he gives me."

What do you think of all the big names leaving the Italian league?
"I honestly don't know for what reason. I am happy to be back. I love this
country and I love Italian football. The dream I had as a boy has come true,
and that was to make a name for myself in your football. And I am happy to
have another chance to return, and this time I hope to stay."

CRESPO: "CHAMPIONS LEAGUE? THIS TIME"
Monday, 07 August 2006 21:30:34
MILAN - Hernan Crespo presentation news conference (4):

Who contacted you first, Inter or Milan?
"I really don't know. I tried to keep out of these things because you can
become anxious if you read the papers too much. Then, the telephone call
came from Chelsea telling me everything had been sorted out."

It has been reported that you have taken a cut in wages to join Inter.
Is this true?
"Yes, but I don't think this is important. I really don't think this is
of any interest. Like I said before, people make life choices. These are
also choices made out of love for Italian football, Italy and most of all
my family, who get on very well here. I'm not sure it's right to talk about
a cut in wages because it has never been an issue."

Didn't you think that there would be more competition in attack at Inter
than at Chelsea?
"No, I honestly have never thought about this. I have never thought about
competition in attack at the teams I have played for, Adriano, il Chino,
Cruz and Martins here, Shevchenko at Milan and Drogba at Chelsea. I believe
in my possibilities. I will try to earn as much playing time as I can.
As you can all see on my cv I have always played for great teams and I have
always been in competition with great players. This is normal for me and it
doesn't frighten me at all."

Have you already had a few calls from your future colleagues?
"Yes. The Argentines in particular have inundated me with texts. Some of them
are in London and others are in Brunico. I will be with them as soon as I can."

What has changed since the day you left Inter a few years ago?
"It is too soon to say if anything has changed. There has always been mutual
respect, so there must be some reason if I am here today. We absolutely did
not leave each other on bad terms."

In one year you lost a Champions League derby over two legs, and in another
with Milan you lost the final in Istanbul. Do you have a score to settle in
the Champions League?
"Yes, and besides by double Milanese experience, I also lost a semi-final with
Chelsea. I have always been very close, but this is all part of football.
Sometimes you need a bit of luck. Let's hope it's my turn this time."

CRESPO: "SPECIAL THANKS TO MORATTI"
Monday, 07 August 2006 20:02:56
MILAN - Hernan Crespo presentation news conference (1):

Crespo, both Inter and Milan wanted you, and you have joined the Nerazzurri.
"I found myself in a neutral situation and didn't want to interfere in any way.
The effort made by Inter to sign me was clearly greater than Milan's. Being
part of this club now fills me with pride and for this I thank Massimo Moratti
above all, and Roberto Mancini and managers Marco Branca and Gabriele Oriali.
I am very pleased about their belief in me, and now it is up to me to repay
them in the best way possible."

How has your life changed since your arrival at Inter four years ago?
"I'm a few years older, so having experienced certain situations will help me.
And my personal life has also changed. I am married now with two daughters and
this has given me a bit more tranquillity. But I have the same desire, the same
responsibilities I had then, and I'm still very motivated. I hope to do as well
as I did in that year I was here."

Do you feel a bit less pressure now than when you made your debut for Inter?
"I have honestly never considered this. I let myself go and I have always tried
to do my best. It is the same situation now. I know that we have important
objectives so we face them lightheartedly, but with lots of responsibility.
I am willing to do everything with this great enthusiasm."
