—A Simeone.

—No.

—No. Estoy bien y haciendo mi futuro. Soy fuerte.

12/2 FC Twente 2-1 AZ
AZ: Sergio Romero, Grétar Steinsson, Kew Jaliens, David Mendes da Silva, Barry Opdam, Demy de Zeeuw, Simon Cziommer (60. Graziano Pellè), Kemy Agustien (69. Kiki Musampa), Sebastien Pocognoli (75. Julian Jenner), Ari, Moussa Dembélé.

ENSCHEDE- AZ suffered an embarrassing 2-1 defeat against FC Twente at the Arke Stadium in Enschede on Sunday afternoon. N’Kufo scored two goals either side of the break. Substitute Pellè reduced the deficit for AZ, while Wilkshire missed a penalty for FC Twente in the second half.
Just like in the previous seasons, AZ were given a hard time by FC Twente, with the home crowd cheering tirelessly for their team. The hosts created most chances and Huysegems, Elia en N’Kufo all brought out fine saves from AZ’s standby goalkeeper Romero, who deputised for the injured Waterman.
In the closing stages of the first half FC Twente broke the deadlock. The home side won a free kick and N’Kufo’s header took a deflection off Wielaert on its way into the goal.
Five minutes after the restart Romero was unlucky again. The Argentinian stopper threw the ball straight at FC Twente forward Denneboom, who immediately set up N’Kufo. Romero fouled the Swiss striker, but made amends when he saved the resulting spot kick taken by Wilkshire.

AZ set new record after their 1-0 win over Larissa

ALKMAAR- AZ have taken a major step towards qualifying for the UEFA Cup Round of 32 after a goal from Moussa Dembélé fifteen minutes from time gave them a hard-earned 1-0 victory against Larissa at the DSB Stadium on Thursday night. AZ have set a new record, now that Louis van Gaal’s team has taken their unbeaten home run in European competition to 32 games.
The DSB Stadium erupted after 76 minutes, when Dembélé blasted home a low shot. AZ move into the third qualifying place in the group, with four points from two games, following the Belgium international’s winning goal.
Medunjanin replaced Ari who served a suspension, but the player who usually features for the reserves this season failed to make an impact on the game. AZ created most chances in the first period. Only four minutes were on the clock when Agustien hit the bar and ten minutes from half time Cziommer seemed to have opened the scoring from a perfect Opdam cross, but the German midfielder had his goal disallowed for offside.
Waterman had already been forced to leave the pitch by then. The AZ goalkeeper had made an awkward landing after he had pushed a ball away, sustaining an upper leg injury. Romero came on to replace him, while AZ went in search of a goal. But just like in the two previous UEFA Cup encounters with Werder Bremen and FC Paços that ended in goalless draws, the Alkmaar forwards could not break the deadlock.

9/30 Debuto:Heracles 2-1 AZ
ALMELO- When the final whistle went at the Polman Stadium in Almelo on Sunday afternoon, the contrast in emotions was conspicuous. The hosts were jubilant after they celebrated their first win of the season, whereas AZ were feeling dejected after they had suffered their third defeat of the 2008/08 campaign. Sergio Romero and Gregory Nelson were given their first taste of league action in AZ’s 2-1 loss.
Opstelling AZ: Sergio Romero, Grétar Steinsson, Kew Jaliens, Ryan Donk, Sebastien Pocognoli, Julian Jenner (74. Ruud Vormer), Demy de Zeeuw, Maarten Martens, Kemy Agustien, Mounir El Hamdaoui (64. Gregory Nelson), Moussa Dembélé.

AZ pulled off emphatic 4-2 win over Inter MilanALKMAAR- AZ pulled off an emphatic 4-2 win over Inter Milan at the DSB Stadium, which was opened one year ago, in their final pre-season warm-up friendly. The Italian stars clearly lacked motivation, put in a lacklustre performance, had Solaris sent off and left for Milan straight after the final whistle.

Inter had come to Alkmaar for a flying visit. The Italians provided the lightning and AZ took care of the thunder. Whereas Nerazzurri never made the impression of taking the friendly as a serious test, the hosts from Alkmaar put in sparkling display, scoring four goals.

Fifty minutes were on the clock, when the scoreboard showed a 4-1 advantage for AZ. Simon Cziommer was involved in the first three goals. The German scored a brace on 10 and 49 minutes and in between the box-to-box midfielder set up Grétar Steinsson who headed the ball past the hapless Inter stopper Julio Cesar.

After the break the agile Ari netted the fifth goal, after which AZ coach Van Gaal made eight substitutions. Dejan Stankovic had already reduced the deficit (2-1) with a glancing header.

Midway the second half the Italians could not take it any longer and committed a host of fouls on new-look AZ. Inter coach Roberto Mancini took off the most hot-tempered of his players, but tempers continued to flare up after the substitutes were brought on as well. Santiago Solari went too far and was given his marching orders barely one minute after he had been brought on as a substitute. Referee Vink reached into his pocket for the red card and brandished it at the Argentinian, while he also showed yellow cards to Dacourt and Stankovic.

In the closing stages of this ill-tempered game, former Feyenoord striker made it 4-2, but the team from Milan did not produce any more goal threat. AZ pulled off a good result in their final test ahead of the new season, after slipping to defeat in previous friendlies against Leverkusen and Middlesbrough and a draw with Hartlepool United. The Alkmaar outfit seems to be ready to open their campaign next week, when they take on newly-promoted VVV-Venlo at the DSB Stadium
